MEET OUR FOUNDING PARTNERS

The first spark for what would later become Re-Quip Foundation appeared back in 2016. During a project for a contractor, a pile gripper frame was built and used to successfully install 66 monopiles. While this was a strong technical achievement, it also raised an eye-opening realization for Natasja Sesink, Co-founder and Operational Partner of MeeMaken: the massive 680-ton frame, complete with hydraulic systems, ended up on a yard, with no clear future use. To Natasja, it felt like an enormous waste of materials and resources, a thought that stayed with her.

That thought resurfaced in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted our supply chain. Projects faced serious delays, and critical components were suddenly unavailable. It was at that moment that the idea for a marketplace for re-used tools and components really took shape.

After the pandemic, Sesink began conversations within her network. Together with several companies in the supply chain, ideas were exchanged and refined during creative brainstorming sessions. The positive energy was there from the start: something needed to change.

And so, the Re-Quip Foundation was born. With the mission to promote circularity and make the re-use of valuable materials and equipment in the offshore and maritime industry the new standard. Achieving this goal is only possible together, by joining forces across the entire supply chain.

To turn this vision into reality, the Foundation was founded by eight founding partners. But its ambition goes far beyond that: we believe true impact can only be created when the entire industry works together. Every supporter and association of Re-Quip has a place within the Foundation and can actively contribute to driving circularity forward
